Eligible Loan Purposes
Loans must be for business purposes or community development projects. Eligible uses include working capital, purchase of land or buildings, construction of building, leasehold improvements, business vehicle purchases, inventory, equipment, purchasing an existing business, or refinancing high interest business debt.

Eligible Applicants
Any new or existing business located on or near the Wind River Indian Reservation is eligible to apply for a loan.

Collateral
Collateral is required for all loans. WRDF staff will work with you to determine the appropriate collateral, depending on your situation.

Equity
Equity is your investment into your business. It is similar to a down payment when you are buying a house or a vehicle. Are you investing in your business? If so, be sure to show it on your loan application.

Application Process
WRDF staff is available to help you through the application process. We'll also be here to give you technical assistance and support once you receive a loan.

  1. Complete the Micro Loan Application and submit to WRDF staff. Only completed applications will be submitted to the loan officer. Review the Micro Loan Application checklist located at the front of the loan application to make sure all necessary items are included.
  2. Once a completed application is received, it will be reviewed by the loan officer to determine if it is complete. The loan officer will also order a credit report and identify environmental issues, if any. The loan officer will determine the strength of the application.
  3. Micro Loans are reviewed and are approved, denied, or sent back for modifications. This process is done in-house and is not submitted to the Loan Committee. The applicant is then notified of the status of their application.
  4. If the loan is approved, the Loan Officer will set a closing date with the loan applicant.
